Cyber Security & e-Token tips for M JOURNEY Corporate & M JOURNEY Secure

MBSB Bank provide e-banking services to enable you to conduct your transactions online for which we have taken all reasonable measures to ensure that the said services are safe and secure for your use. However, you shall always be solely responsible to take all the necessary preventive measures and precautions as stated below to ensure and maintain security when you use the said services and to protect your personal information.

  1. To check transaction alerts in a timely manner
    Always check the transaction alerts from time to time, as well as account balances or statements on a regular basis and to report to the us as soon as any unauthorised transaction, error or discrepancy is detected.

  2. To verify the authenticity of messages
    Should you receive any SMS / Email from unknown or unverified sources always remember, “don’t click, don’t tell, don’t pay and don’t download anything.

  3. Check the website's privacy policy and disclosures contained in the terms and conditions.
    1. Read and understand the website's disclosures specifically on account policies and other terms and conditions.
    2. Before providing any personal financial information to a website, determine how the information will be used or shared with others.
    3. Check the website's statements about the security provided for the information divulged.

  4. Other internet security measures
    1. Do not disclose banking credentials such as access identity (ID) and passcode to a third-party.
    2. Take reasonable steps to keep security device always secure.
      (“Security device” means a token or other devices that generate a passcode.
      For example, should not click dubious links or download Android Package Kit (APK) files from untrusted sources. Perform security updates with the latest anti-virus and anti-malware as advised by their FIs and only download mobile banking apps from a trusted app store.
    3. Report any security breach of banking credentials or the loss of a security device to MBSB Bank immediately.

      3. Affected account number
      4. Date of the transactions
      5. Amount
      6. Reason why it is a disputed transaction
      7. You need to lodge a Police Report and share the completed report through enquiry@mbsbbank.com

We have prevented certain device functionalities from taking certain actions on the M JOURNEY Corporate and M JOURNEY Secure App for security reasons and the integrity of user personal information; therefore, you may need to disable or uninstall some applications from your current device to continue using M JOURNEY Corporate or M JOURNEY Secure App.

  1. M JOURNEY Corporate App and M JOURNEY Secure App
    Make sure to get the M JOURNEY Corporate and M JOURNEY Secure apps from the official and genuine Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

  2. Debugging via USB
    While USB debugging is frequently used by developers or IT support to link and transfer data from an Android device to a computer, the device is not secure when connected to a computer.

  3. Third-Party Keyboard
    A third-party keyboard may contain hidden malicious applications that can access all data entered by users, including usernames, passwords, bank account numbers, credit card details, and other confidential and private information.

  4. Rooted Device
    Rooting stops some of the operating system's built-in security features, which are part of what makes the operating system safe and your data private from exposure or corruption. Today's devices work in an atmosphere rife with threats posed by buggy or malicious apps; anything that weakens the internal controls in the Android operating system poses a greater risk.
